Ethical people in an unethical world?
One of the reasons why people study with us is that they want to be ethical people even though the world is unethical.
Human beings usually find it easy to see where the world is unethical. Our media are always telling us about unethical politicians, unethical teachers, unethical business people, unethical movie stars . . . and even about unethical media people. But they don't tell us how we can act ethically in spite of all that.
The Bible and the Qur'an both have plenty to teach us about ethics. They also have passages which make us think about how we should respond when people treat us unethically. There is plenty to agree about when we think about what we OUGHT to do. The big question is how we can be the sorts on people who WANT to do what we ought to do and who ARE ABLE to do what we ought to do.
Why not look at the passages in our new program, 'Blessed are the Peacemakers'? We designed them for Muslims and Christians to study together.
